TIBCO Business Studio
Unified business process modeling and implementation environment
TIBCO Business Studio™ is an Eclipse-based, unified business process modeling and implementation environment that enables business experts and IT to collaborate to model, implement and deploy business process solutions.
Business experts can rapidly model business processes, user interface forms, business objects and the organizational structure. Process models can be simulated to understand their behavior and impact on the business. Process developers also use Business Studio to implement and deploy the modeled processes. This model driven approach to capturing business processes ensures a single point of reference and virtually no coding.
The agility offered by a streamlined multi-faceted tooling environment, coupled with increased collaboration with IT, ensures rapid implementations that meet organizational goals and timeframes.
- A common modeling environment provides enhanced collaboration between business and IT to ensure that the processes implemented reflect actual business needs.
- The use of a single process model for both business and IT avoids "round trip" issues.
- A seamless model-to-execution experience bridges the gap between strategy and implementation.
- Advanced simulation capabilities reduce trial and error and ensure process optimization.
Key Features
Standards-Based Models
- Support for the BPMN 1.2, XPDL 2.1 and UML 2.0 standards.
Out-of-the-Box Best Practices
- BPMN fragment library and built-in workflow patterns help experts get ramped up and adopt best practices.
- TIBCO publishes industry standard process models such as SCOR, DCOR, HR-XML, and Prince2.
Business Expert and Process Developer Views
- A process model is treated as a single entity with two unique views – one for business experts and one for process developers – to ensure one consistent model from design to deployment.
- Business experts can model processes, add forms to create mockups, run simulations, and associate relevant documentation.
- Process developers can implement further details such as calls to web services or back-end systems in the same environment.
Web 2.0 (Ajax) Forms
- Employ wizards and a rich design palette to graphically design, view, and test Ajax forms for process participants.
- These forms can be displayed in the out-of-the-box TIBCO iProcess™ Workspace client or used in custom portals and clients.
Business Object Modeler
- Define in UML 2.0 a vocabulary of core business objects to abstract data models from the process model.
Organization Modeler
- Visually model the organizational structure, attributes, and relationships that underpin processes.
Dynamic Process Support
- Implement processes that react and adapt to a changing business environment to enhance business responsiveness to unpredictable scenarios.
Advanced Simulation and Reporting
- Run simulations based on real data or sample data to validate processes and identify details such as costs, times, bottlenecks, or underutilized resources.
- Built-in reporting enables users to generate reports on these details or compare different processes to assess the impact of any change.
Seamless Model-to-Execution Experience for BPM+SOA
- Business Studio is the model-driven development environment for both TIBCO iProcess Suite for BPM and TIBCO ActiveMatrix® suite for SOA.
